On Thursday 11 April one of our consultants is hosting a special awareness raising acoustic gig in aid of First Step Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland.
Rai Waddingham, a local singer/songwriter, has been given the keys to the monthly SoundHive Social event at Duffy’s Bar (Pocklingtons Walk, Leicester). This gives her free reign to invite artists she wants to hear live whilst raising awareness and funds for our charity. On the night she’ll be joined by Jake Thompson and Seper – both incredible artists – and will be performing a set too. As a female survivor, she stands in solidarity with male survivors and wants to shine a light on the experience and let people know that they’re not alone.
The SoundHive Social is a monthly acoustic night that is building up an appreciative following. It was originally conceived of as an opportunity to challenge some of the loneliness and isolation people can feel in the music scene – encouraging people to connect with each other as high quality acoustic artists played a soundtrack to the evening. Each month, breathtaking artists take the stage. Feedback from the artists and the audience make it clear that this is something special.
You are welcome to join us on the night. It starts at 8pm at Duffy’s Bar. It’s free entry, although people are welcome to make donations towards First Step if they choose.
