Job Purpose:
To support service delivery.
To provide essential administrative and clerical support to ensure the efficient functioning of the service.
To provide advocacy support to empower First Step’s clients.
To support clients on a one-to-one basis around their needs and refer or signpost to other relevant and appropriate agencies.
Hours: 30 hours per week Monday – Thursday. The postholder will be required to work one evening a week until 7.00pm
Salary: £13.45 (Real Living Wage)
Based at: First Step Office. Leicester City Centre
Role Overview:
The Administrative Assistant/Advocacy Worker will provide essential administrative and clerical support to ensure the efficient functioning of the service. This role requires sensitivity, discretion, and a commitment to supporting survivors of trauma. Alongside these administrative duties, you will also provide trauma-informed, client-led advocacy support, helping clients navigate systems such as criminal justice, housing, health, education, and welfare. The advocacy role involves working collaboratively with clients to ensure their voices are heard and their rights upheld.
